Online Panels and Affiliate Networks

Depending on the research objectives and sample frame, W5 will work with “best of breed” online panel partners. However, W5 most frequently uses affiliate networks as sources of online sample.

An affiliate network works somewhat like an online panel, but is different in structure. The primary benefits of employing an affiliate network result from the use of multiple sources for acquiring respondents. In addition to targeting respondents already belonging to a panel, the affiliate network is used to contact and recruit respondents through alternative means.

This innovative approach ensures a higher quantity of qualified participants and filters out “professional participants” and respondents who may be “over-surveyed.” This method also allows for easier acquisition of low incidence groups within the target, ensuring that participants are both highly qualified and representative of the target audience.
