Design-Driven Deliverables

While the majority of research and strategy deliverables at W5 are text, graph, and chart driven, planning engagements often utilize other media to present information. Visual, interactive, and multi-sensory approaches to reporting add richness and dimension that parallel the dynamic nature of planning engagements themselves.

We believe people learn in different ways. Given that the planning process itself involves a holistic approach, client deliverables should be fundamentally representative of the process and presented in such a way to appeal to a wide audience that may use all five senses to learn.

Some past examples of W5’s design driven deliverables include immersion rooms, shadow boxes, video montages, “smell kits” to stir olfactory senses associations, “texture bolts” to simulate a sense of feeling, and assorted peripheral handouts (e.g., card sets, animated decision-trees, and color-coded office place mats highlighting study results).
