Unlock Patient Empathy

A major health advocacy group needed stories and faces to bring to life academic research and data of key patient populations. A more personal connection would help the client better understand patient experiences, needs, pain points, and trusted partners to guide development and evolution of future programs to support their health journey.

APPROACH

To Inspire empathetic thinking by understanding a day in the life of these patient populations, W5 leveraged online discussions over multiple days to capture how diseases impacted their day to day and the various emotional and rational triggers they experience. A virtual backroom allowed clients to learn along with W5 moderators as patient participants catalogued their behaviors, challenges, and needs via text, video, and other multimedia responses.

RESULTS

The research found these unique patient audiences were empowered by having more information at each step of the process and all groups had similar challenges and desires from their healthcare providers. W5 provided strategic recommendations for each of the three audiences, identifying key areas in which the client could offer more directed outreach programs while influencing medical professionals to increase and evolve care.
